2023.01.22 23:10 dimsumlasagna classes not showing up on either blackboard or brightspace
just wanna see if this is happening to anyone else but so far only 1 of my classes has shown up on blackboard and the rest are empty. Brightspace has the classes but there’s no info posted. Usually professors will email before the semester starts so I’m a little weirded out. I’ll probably wait and see if anything shows up tomorrow but really hate that SBU didn’t just make a full switch to brightspace bc now everything is a mess 😵💫

- CORQ: for event pass in SBU events on SB Engaged
- Get: for meal plans checking and pick up orders at certain places
- Secure W2: wifi
- Duo: MFA
- blackboard/brightspace: duh
- Navigate: academic advising & tutoring schedules
- GroupMe: your class groupchat is probably on there

okay every time i need to log in to brightspace or my sbu email on chrome on my laptop it gives me the error message “bad message 431 request header fields too large” and i can’t get into the login shit with my netid and duo. it works on safari but i hate safari and i just want to use chrome. it doesn’t do this for anything else only when i have to log in with my net id. someone help me PLEASE

Hi everyone! Hope that the first few weeks of term have been kind to you!
TL;DR ECT not appearing on DfE portal for TF even though LA can see her, causing problems getting started on ECT programme.
I wondered if anyone has ever experienced any issues with registering their ECTs with TeachFirst?
Our ECT was registered on the DfE portal in April and we began working with our LA around the same time. We initially received contact from a local TeachFirst representative with a recording of a 5hr introduction webinar for myself (mentor) and our ECT to watch.
Since then we have received no further information including logins to Brightspace, etc. When we have asked about this, we have been told to hang on and hang on until 3 weeks ago when we were told that it was because TF can’t find our ECT on the DfE portal, even though our induction tutor and the LA can, and have checked multiple times since we were informed about this.
Our local rep is quite difficult to get hold of and although they keep reassuring us that they are chasing TF regularly for updates, they never really seem to be able to give us any new info.
We are a fairly new post-16 SEND college so this is the first experience of an ECT that any of us have had and we are worried about falling behind with the content.
Has anyone been able to resolve this before? Or does anyone know how to contact TF directly to escalate the issue as we seem to just be going round in circles with the local team?

I've had an issue logging into myPurdue/Brightspace on Chrome the last few weeks. The login screen just has the login/password dialogs and not the black box with the purdue logo. Attempting to log in just bounces an error and it doesn't try to send the two-factor authentication code. I can log in on my other devices like my phone with chrome, just not my desktop. The strange thing is I can log in with edge on my computer. This would be an okay workaround except edge kinda sucks imo and I want to be able to use chrome for my academic stuff. iTap said that it was likely a chrome cache or a version issue, but my chrome is up to date as of today and i've tried clearing data at least 10 times. Has anyone else experienced this and/or been able to resolve this issue? Thanks in advance

Hey guys, I don't know if anyone is having this same problem, but everytime I click on a link/tab from a course in the app, it just opens up the mycourses login page. This basically defeats the whole purpose of the convenience of always being signed in and not having to "duomobile" in every single time. The app also has a turn in button for assignments but now that is gone too! For some reason, this problem is only present on iOS. The app on my Android phone still keeps me signed and has that turn in button. Btw, I never had this problem last year. Anyone know a fix to this?

RICHMOND, Va. - Russia has some of the best hackers in the world, but in the early days of the war in Ukraine, its ability to create mayhem through malware hasn't had much of a noticeable impact.
Now, an ad hoc army of hackers - some marshaled online by Ukraine's SBU security service - are claiming credit for takedowns and defacements of Russian government and media sites.
A volunteer group calling itself the IT Army of Ukraine has more than 230,000 followers on a Telegram channel and is constantly listing targets for hackers to hit, like Russian banks and cryptocurrency exchanges.
On Monday, Ukraine's SBU made its recruitment of allied volunteer hackers official.
"CYBER FRONT IS NOW OPEN! Help Ukrainian cyber experts hack occupant's platforms!" it said on its Telegram channel, asking for tips on vulnerabilities in Russian cyber defenses, including software bugs and login credentials.
One hacker group that first appeared last year, the Belarus Cyber Partisans, claimed Monday to have disrupted some rail service in Belarus, the northern neighbor of Ukraine from which several prongs of Russia's military attacked.

I have been using the Boilerkey helper extension for quite some time now, but now it fails. When attempting to login, brightspace will tell me that the account has been locked due to successive failed attempts.
I attempted to solve this issue by removing and re-downloading the extension, but after a fresh install it doesn't let me reconfigure it.
Does anyone know how to fix this? I think I just need to go in and change what info it is putting into the fields for brightspace.
